Região Autónoma da Madeira
The Madeira Autonomous Region is composed of several islands located in the Atlantic Ocean, these islands are:
Madeira,
Porto Santo,
Desertas and
Selvagens.
As its name indiciates, the RAM has its own Government and its own house of law.
The president of the Regional Government is Dr. Alberto João Jardim.
The RAM has its own flag and athem. The flags colors represent:
1st blue stripe - the sky
yellow stripe - the sun
2nd blue stripe - the sea.
The most important economic activity in Madeira is turism.
